Beaches Counseling, Inc. was incorporated in 1989 as a private mental health practice. Partially because of its close proximity to Naval Station Mayport, the clinic quickly developed a specialty in serving the mental health and emotional wellness needs of military families.

The staff of Beaches Counseling represents a variety of skills and focus areas that enable the clinic to provide comprehensive services. This includes counseling and therapy for children, adolescents, adults couples and families; psychological, personality and vocational testing services for clients. All clinical staff are licensed by the State in which they practice to provide mental health services. In addition many staff members have personal experience as a military service member or dependent. Staff includes a retired Naval Captain, a former prisoner of war, disabled veteran and spouses and children of career military families.

As a local business enterprise the company actively supports the military presence in the community. Staff members have participated in the Chamber of Commerce Military Task Force, attend Command functions and have volunteered services to support base activities.

In 1996 Beaches Counseling was awarded its first service contract on a military base at Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay Georgia. They are a subcontractor for JA Jones Management Services for Annex 21, Social Services and Counseling Center.

The company receives consistently high (100%) fee compliance ratings, many unsolicited compliments from the various commands and many request for services from the various commands. Since that time they have been awarded other contracts on military bases and by Veterans Administration. Staff morale is consistently high with excellent attitudes toward work and a shared sense of purpose.
